About the course

CMAS P2 is the next step after the entry-level course, and gives you the skills you need to dive more independently, plan your own dives and handle challenges at greater depths. The course builds on the knowledge from P1 and takes you further towards safe and efficient diving down to 30 metres.

This is the course for you who want to develop your skills, confidence and control – and who want to be a more active part of the diving community.

What will you learn?

The course combines theory, pool exercises and open water dives with a focus on:

• Deeper diving – techniques and physiology for dives towards 30 metres
• More advanced ascent techniques and buoyancy control
• Planning of more complex dives, including time, gas consumption and reserve solutions
• Underwater navigation – using a compass and natural references
• Safety routines for deeper dives, including problem solving and stress management
• Buddy rescue and emergency situations at greater depths
• Improving swimming technique, trim and stability

After passing the course you receive the internationally recognised CMAS★★ certificate, which allows you to dive down to 30 metres and to continue on to more advanced courses.

This is included in the course

• Classroom theory + access to e-learning
• Pool session(s) with an instructor
• A minimum of 6 open water dives, including a deep dive
• All training with experienced instructors
• Loan of specialist equipment if needed (SMB, compass, etc.)
• A physical CMAS certificate after passing the course

Entry requirements

• CMAS P1 or equivalent certification
• Good buoyancy control and basic diving skills
• Minimum 15 years of age (consent from a guardian for minors)
• A medical certificate for sport diving if the previous one has expired
