Right of Withdrawal, Returns, and Exchanges
Last updated: July 2, 2026
How the right of withdrawal, returns, exchanges, and complaints work when you shop in our online store.
This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Norwegian version is the legally binding version.
1.Right of withdrawal for online purchases
When you shop as a consumer in Bare Dykk's online store, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
The withdrawal period normally begins to run the day after you receive the item.
If an order contains several items delivered separately, the period normally begins to run the day after the last item is received.
The right of withdrawal applies only to consumer purchases. Purchases made as part of a business activity are not covered by the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven).
2.How to exercise the right of withdrawal
You must give Bare Dykk a clear notice that you wish to exercise the right of withdrawal before the deadline expires.
You may:
- Use the withdrawal form that accompanied the order confirmation
- Send an email to info@baredykk.no
- Send another clear written notice
The notice should include:
- Name
- Order number
- Which item or items you wish to return
- The date you received the item
You do not need to provide any reason.
It is your responsibility to be able to document that the notice was sent within the deadline.
It is not sufficient simply to leave the package uncollected or to return the item without giving notice that the right of withdrawal is being exercised.
3.Deadline for returns
After you have given notice of withdrawal, the item must be sent or returned without undue delay and no later than 14 days.
Please contact us before returning so that we can register the case and provide the necessary information.
4.Return address
Bare Dykk AS
Melgårdsvegen 27A, 7710 Sparbu
Mark the return with your name and order number.
Returns must not be sent cash-on-delivery.
5.Return costs
When exercising the ordinary right of withdrawal, the customer pays the direct cost of returning the item, unless otherwise expressly agreed.
For items that, due to size, weight, pressure vessels, or transport restrictions, cannot be returned as an ordinary postal parcel, the cost may be higher. Please contact us before sending such items.
Bare Dykk covers necessary return costs if the item is returned as a result of a valid complaint or an incorrect delivery.
6.Inspecting the item
You may open the packaging and inspect the item to the extent necessary to determine its nature, characteristics, and function, roughly as you could have done in a physical store.
You may become liable for any reduction in value if the item has been handled or used more than is necessary for such an inspection.
Examples of circumstances that may lead to a reduction in value:
- The item has been used in water or while diving
- The item has scratches, marks, odor, or wear
- Protective film or seals have been removed when this was not necessary for the inspection
- Equipment has been configured, cut, or assembled in a way that cannot readily be reversed
- Included parts, manuals, or accessories are missing
- The packaging is damaged more than necessary
Original packaging is not an absolute condition for exercising the right of withdrawal, but we recommend that the packaging be kept and used for the return. Missing or damaged packaging may affect the value of the item if the packaging has independent significance for resale or safe transport.
Pack the item securely. The customer bears the risk for the item during return transport and should use a trackable shipping method.
7.Refunds
When the right of withdrawal is exercised, Bare Dykk refunds the payments we have received for the returned item.
When the entire order is returned, the cost of our least expensive ordinary delivery method is also refunded.
Additional costs resulting from the customer choosing a more expensive delivery method than our least expensive standard delivery are not refunded.
Refunds are made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we received the notice that the right of withdrawal is being exercised.
Bare Dykk may withhold the refund until:
- The item has been received, or
- The customer has provided documentation that the item has been sent back
The refund is normally carried out using the same payment method that was used for the purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
Any documented reduction in value may be deducted from the refund.
8.Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the cases where the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) provides for exceptions.
Custom-made items
Items that are made to the customer's specifications or have been given a clear personal character. This may, for example, include:
- Made-to-measure drysuits
- Specially produced suits or undergarments
- Permanently adapted or engraved products
- Hoses or other products that are specially cut to the customer's measurements
- Equipment that is permanently rebuilt to the customer's individual order
The fact that an ordinary stock item must be ordered from a supplier is not in itself sufficient for the right of withdrawal to lapse.
The customer must be given clear information before ordering if an item is not covered by the right of withdrawal.
Sealed items for reasons of health or hygiene
The right of withdrawal may lapse for sealed items that are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene, once the seal has been broken after delivery.
This is assessed on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically apply to all products that have been packed or sealed.
Digital content and other statutory exceptions
Other exceptions may apply if the conditions in the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) are met and the customer has received the necessary prior information.
9.Used and demo items
Used items, display items, and demo items are not generally exempt from the right of withdrawal when sold online to a consumer.
The product's condition, signs of use, and any defects must be described before the purchase.
The right of withdrawal applies unless a specific statutory exception is applicable.
10.Voluntary right of exchange
Bare Dykk may offer exchanges beyond the statutory right of withdrawal.
A voluntary exchange normally requires that:
- You contact us within 14 days of receipt
- The item is clean and shows no signs of use
- All accessories are included
- The item is not custom-made
- A new size or model is available
For an ordinary exchange, the customer normally pays the return shipping to Bare Dykk.
Bare Dykk sends the first replacement item without a new ordinary shipping charge, unless otherwise stated before the purchase. Any price difference between the products must be paid or refunded.
The voluntary right of exchange does not limit the statutory right of withdrawal or the right to complain.
11.Fit guarantee on selected products
On certain drysuits, gloves, undergarments, or other size-dependent products, Bare Dykk may offer a special fit guarantee.
If so, this will be stated on the product page or in a written offer.
The fit guarantee may require that:
- The customer has provided correct measurements
- The customer has followed the measurement guide
- The product has only been tried on indoors
- The product has not been used in water
- Labels and accessories are included
- The customer contacts Bare Dykk within the stated deadline
The fit guarantee does not apply to made-to-measure or permanently custom-made products unless otherwise expressly agreed.
12.A complaint is different from the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal is used when you wish to cancel the purchase without the item necessarily being defective.
A complaint is used when the item:
- Has a fault or defect
- Does not conform to the agreement
- Is damaged on delivery
- Does not have the characteristics that were promised
In the case of a valid complaint, Bare Dykk covers the necessary return and shipping costs.
A complaint does not automatically give the right to an immediate refund. Under the rules of law, Bare Dykk may be entitled to inspect the item and offer repair or replacement before other remedies are considered.
13.Incorrect delivery or transport damage
If you have received the wrong item, the wrong quantity, or an item damaged in transport, you must contact us as soon as possible.
Send:
- Order number
- A description of the problem
- Photos of the item
- Photos of the packaging in the case of transport damage
- A photo of the shipping label if relevant
Do not discard the packaging until the case has been resolved.
14.Items bought or picked up in the physical store
The statutory right of withdrawal normally does not apply to purchases entered into in a physical store.
Bare Dykk may nevertheless offer voluntary exchanges under the terms in section 10.
If the item was ordered and the purchase agreement was entered into online, the right of withdrawal may still apply even if the item was later picked up in person.
15.Courses, accommodation, and diving activities
This page mainly concerns the return of goods purchased in the online store.
Courses, guided dives, boat trips, accommodation, rental, and dive packages may have their own cancellation terms.
For accommodation and leisure activities that are to be provided on a specific date or during a specific period, an ordinary 14-day right of withdrawal normally does not apply when the conditions of the law are met.
Any cancellation and refund rules must therefore be stated in the offer and the booking terms before the customer confirms the order.
