Welcome to Bare Dykk in Småvika.

Located just outside Trondheim, in the powerful tidal waters of Skarnsundet, we offer access to one of the most unique dive environments in Northern Europe.

🪸 A living coral ecosystem – from 18 meters to technical depths

Skarnsundet offers rare access to coral environments across a wide depth range:

• • Fan corals from ~18 meters
  • Pink sea fans (ris-koraller) and dense coral structures
  • Sea trees (Paragorgia arborea) from ~36 meters — among the shallowest documented in Norwegian fjords
  • Zig-zag corals and current-exposed formations
  • A documented Madrepora oculata reef (~650 × 400 m)

Few places in Europe combine this level of accessibility, biodiversity and scale.

🔬 Scientifically documented – not just explored

This is not just a dive site — it is an actively studied ecosystem.

Our team has contributed to mapping the 20–70 meter range using sport and technical diving, complementing deeper ROV surveys documented in NINA Report 2229 by the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (down to 550 meters).
