McNett Aquasure® is the adhesive for permanent repairs on just about any water sports equipment. It can be used on drysuits, wetsuits and other equipment used in contact with water.
About Aquasure®
McNett Aquasure® is an adhesive made from an elastic urethane compound that does not go completely rigid as it cures. It is a typical contact adhesive that can be used on almost anything. Aquasure® is also an industry standard for maximum-strength repairs to wetsuits, drysuits, water sports equipment, fishing and kayaking gear, rubber boots and hundreds of things for outdoor or household use. Faster curing with the McNett Cotol-240™ cure accelerator.
How do you use the adhesive?
First clean the area (this applies especially to drysuits) you are going to seal or glue (you can use Cotol accelerator, alcohol and the like). Latex (seals) should be “brushed” down with a little sandpaper to give a less smooth surface before gluing. Apply (using the brush supplied) an even layer roughly 2 mm thick, and preferably use the Cotol-240™ accelerator to get a thinner compound that settles more neatly and dries faster.
Aquasure can also be used to reinforce seams on wetsuits, neoprene gloves, wet socks and similar.
Aquasure® is perfect for larger jobs, and better suited than neoprene cement for, say, bigger tears in wetsuits, splits in gloves, wet boots, waders, tents, rafts, freediving buoys, rubber boots and the like.
Aquasure® goes a long way and can be used again and again for maintenance and repairs. The tube can be stored in the fridge or freezer to stop it drying out. You can also squeeze the adhesive closer to the cap after use to avoid getting unnecessary air into the tube. Not least, it is a good idea to put everything glue-related in a zip-lock bag between uses.
